Feedjit’s New Lynnwood Data Center

Sunday, March 9th, 2008

After some very long hours this weekend I’m pleased to announce that Feedjit has moved into a brand new Lynnwood based hosting facility just north of Seattle where our offices are based.

We had a few scheduled interruptions to our service this weekend - one scheduled on Friday night and another last night. After we came back up in the new data center we had a few minor hiccups to work through. Thanks very much to all the users who reported any problems they had. The info you gave us was extremely helpful.

Now that this migration is behind us we will be focusing 100% on adding new features to Feedjit! Watch this blog for updates.

Please Read This if your Feedjit’s aren’t appearing today

Last night we did some planned maintenance on Feedjit. We made a few changes to the addresses of our servers in something called DNS. We ran into a few hiccups and had to change things several times. That left many DNS servers a little confused about what the address for Feedjit is.

In 99% of cases things are working fine now. But we’ve received a few emails this morning from people who can’t see their Feedjits.

If you can’t see your Feedjits it is most likely a problem with your local Internet service provider’s DNS not having updated correctly. Most of your users can see your Feedjits just fine even if you are currently unable to.

These problems will correct themselves as the slower DNS servers update themselves during the course of today.

My apologies for any inconvenience this has caused.

FEEDJIT Maintenance Window Friday March 7th 8pm-8am PST

Wednesday, March 5th, 2008

Feedjit will be undergoing routine maintainance on Friday March 7th from 8pm Pacific Time to the following morning (Saturday) 8am Pacific Time.

For our European customers this is 0400 GMT to 1600 GMT on Saturday March 8th 2008.

For our Japanese and Asian customers this window is Saturday March 8th from 13:00 to Sunday March 9th at 0100 Tokyo Time.

This maintenance will not slow down the performance of your website. Our web servers will be up and responding to any requests. The only effect is that Feedjit’s home page will not be available and your Feedjit widgets will not appear on your website during this window.

We’ve reserved a 12 hour window during which Feedjt may be unavailable but we’re hoping to only use a fraction of that time.

If you have any questions regarding this or any other issue, please contact us at support@feedjit.com.
